Episodes of Family Guy That Are Actually Funny
On January 31st, 1999, Fox debuted a brand new cartoon series for adults immediately following Super Bowl XXIII. Most of the people that stuck around were greeted with a truly memorable episode of Family Guy that remains one of their highest rated ever. Some NFL fans probably had no idea what was going on but they still watched it and some of them ended up becoming lifetime fans of the show.
It does not matter the reasons for being a fan of the hit show Family Guy, all that matters is that you are part of a community that loves the show that attacks just about anyone. No topic is off limits for Family Guy, especially politics, in which Family Guy has spent plenty of time and episodes going after political figures running for office and organizations such as the FCC.
Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the series, spends a lot of his time creating original musical numbers to battle the system in the most hysterical way. His best musical number is the "Freakin FCC" from season 4, in which Family Guy takes a shot at television censorship and, most importantly, it takes a shot at the FCC, which was the reason the show was cancelled after season 2. It was also cancelled again in 2002 but returned shortly after.
It is the only show on primetime television that routinely takes a shot at everyone, nothing being off limits. During season 8, however, the show took things a bit too far and ended up having an episode banned from tv. The episode titled, "Partial Terms of Endearment," was banned for the way in which it depicted abortion and the matter in which it was portrayed. As odd as it is, the episode isn't half as bad as the first few seasons and some of the jokes they landed without the FCC stopping them once.
For a primetime cartoon series that takes a shot at everyone, Family Guy has been around since 1999 and has giving us some incredible moments that we decided we would share with you today. Here are the funniest moments in Family Guy's 19 year history.
